🌿 The Hana (The Practice)
Planting seeds is more than gardening — it is a daily ritual of hope and responsibility. At Ka Hana Pono, keiki place tiny hands into the earth and learn that growth takes time, care, and trust in what we cannot yet see.
🌱 What Children Learn
By tucking seedlings into the soil, children practice responsibility, motor skills, and the rhythm of tending something beyond themselves. They learn that their effort, paired with nature’s gifts, brings food, beauty, and life.
💛 Connection to Social-Emotional Learning
Planting is a mirror for patience. Keiki see that not everything happens right away — growth unfolds slowly. They also practice collaboration, sharing tools and space, and feeling the pride of contributing to the garden together.
🌺 Connection to ʻĀina
The garden is our teacher. ʻĀina reminds us that everything is interconnected: soil, water, sun, and human hands. Keiki learn that caring for the land means caring for themselves and their community.
✨ Living in Pono
With each seed pressed into the ground, keiki are practicing pono — balance and harmony with nature. It’s a reminder that when we give care, aloha, and patience, we receive nourishment and joy in return.
