**All Hawaiian Islands are under a Flash Flood Watch
We are watching the news and weather reports closely regarding storms Iselle and Julio.
HURRICANE ISELLE – IF Oahu is placed under a Tropical Storm WATCH we will continue to monitor the storm & take heed from the Dept of Human Services.
– WARNINGS are issued when a storm could affect Oahu in 24 hours or less. When a WATCH is issued we will do our best to make decisions as to whether to close Ka Hana Pono before the issuance of a WARNING. The timing of the closure should coincide with the end of a normal school day.
– As of right now only the island of Hawaii is under a Tropical Storm Watch.
***Because Ka Hana Pono is surrounded by beautiful shade trees there is a high risk of falling branches if the winds are high. We will be monitoring the weather and will do our best to determine by Thursday if Ka Hana Pono should be closed on Friday 8/8/14.
TROPICAL STORM JULIO – This storm could impact Oahu in the Sunday to Monday timeframe.

Precautionary/preparedness actions: Loose objects such as lawn furniture, garbage cans and other items should be secured or stored indoors. Have supplies on hand and be ready for power outages. Evacuate if ordered by local officials. Power and water will most likely be impacted as a result of the storm, so be prepared to be without both for a few days as a worse case scenario.
